This is not true! I am the wife and I have the control of the remote. I think it goes deeper than just being in control of the remote i think men want it just to say the have the control. If you ask a married couple who holds the remote its like asking whos the most dominate one in a relationship. If you ask a couple were the women is humble the man is obviously going to say he does. If you ask someone thats in a relationship like mine where im the outspoken one and hes the humble one then it would be me. Its all a control issue.

"Ant" isn't right. The reason men have to control the remote control is because they don't like to watch anything on TV all the way through. Their attention spans are not very good. They like to "flip" channels continually. They like to go between several football games at a time, or flip from this show to that. My husband and I solved the problem years ago. We got a second TV for times when he is in a flipping mood and i actually want to watch a show (like a movie) all the way through.

Because men usually only watch television after work, their interest is different from the ladies. They like sports, racing, stupid comedies, weather channel (etc) Their reasoning is that their wives can watch anything they want during the day while they are at work. Having control of the remote at night gives them the illusion that they are still the head of the family. Buy a second remote that's it!!!!

Your man is a lucky fellow. For me, my 5 year old son has control of the tv remote 90% of the time and my wife 10% of the rest (when oprah and tyra banks are on!) I have to watch my games at a friends place or at the bar!

coz they doesn't want to give any type of control to women and this is because after losing the control of anything they will have to face the inferior complaxe which is a death for a men soul, that why this all starts with taking the hold on the tv remote

You know you are absolutely 100% right. That is the reason that I went out and purchased a second T.V. with remote. Let me tell you, it didn't help. He wants to control it too. I think the control must make them feel a sense of power.I want to see how men answer this.

Control issue.

As a side note though... in my family, it is my mother who always has to have the remote. Dad doesn't care what he watches and Mom does!

I survive my own and continually have the television distant close to hand with the intention to mute the sound on the programme junctions. whilst the better point of sound used on the categorised classified ads is stressful, the even larger point used on soccer promotions is basically too plenty. i observed that a woman focused visitor replaced into even swifter than i'm at muting the sound on the breaks. even with who pays for the television licence, the quickest finger is superb to settle for the distant administration.

do they really? Geez I must live in the wrong house then. My wife holds onto it -or maybe it is just glues to her. If she falls asleep on the couch, it will be tucked right under her and if I try to get it then she comes awake and I am in deep doo doo. If she has gone out, it will be hidden so well that I have to work the TV without it.Can I move to your house? lol
