They don't "end", but a friend relationship tends to get put on hold when one is in the early stages of a dating relationship. There's that time at the beginning of a new relationship where you want to be around the other person 24/7. Eventually, that fades and you pick up your life again.
Taking a guess at your age, I'd guess that you and your friend are both young enough that in a month the relationship will be over anyway. Your friend will be back.

They don't always end... sometimes they do, but only because the "friend" devotes all of their time to the new bf/gf.... and stop spending time with their old friends.
