I beleive DR stands for Drawn, and CR stands for Credit

Old terms. Cr. into credit or creditor is easy. Dr. translates into drachma or an old form of greek currency.

Dr = Debit
Cr = Credit

Dr used to be used for a greek currency, drachma I think.

i'm not sure about that as i know dr is for debit side of T account..

I'm not sure if it's latin of greek in origin but

DR is from DEBERE which literally means to ADD
CR is from Credere which literally means to DEDUCT
