You are living in the UK but I live in the US. I have answered from the perspective of people who would have the opportunity to live in the US.
People in some Eastern countries might say that it is the wide open spaces. Everyone has a lot of space at home, at work, on public transportation. People in some poor countries would say that it is the abundance of food and clothing. People who live in dictatorships would say it is the freedom to live without fear that the government will arrest you and torture you even if you are innocent of any crime. People from a culture that does not allow them to worship in freedom would say that it is the freedom of worship. But a person who is born in the west would probably say that they like the technology, the access to eduation and the variety of entertainment. Everything is relative.

The only way to know for sure is live in a small town in the west on mid west, ie: Ia., Ne.. Try out a small town if only for a week or two and you will appreciate the small town advantages over heavy metropolitain area elsewhere.
Try out Shenandoah, Ia.Google it and take a look.

For a muslim female the best thing about living in the West is that you are not living under Taliban rule.

One of the best things in Canada is the westerly winds called chinooks. They give us mild winters with very little snow. Beautiful Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Banff National Park, beautiful Lakes. Calgary, a beautiful city and then there is oil rich Alberta and scenic B.C.

Well, I don't think I can ever pick anything great about living in the west, but I do feel tons of freedom when I walk in the street unless you count all the stares I get, when I'm coming back from school with my friends just because we wear a hijab and jilbab but overal life is great it is just a matter of arrogance in my view but I love everything about the west. Actually I don't even understand what I am saying lol anyways thanks for the two points.........

I would have to say "freedom", the freedom of choice makes a world of difference...The rite to choose what you think is best,and if you make the wrong choice,then you have the freedom to choose another.
