I rarely use ebay so I'm hoping someone can help here. I just won an item and paid for it right after the timer hit zero yesterday. Today, I received an e-mail from the seller saying that my payment is "frozen" in his account and is asking me to cancel it (I don't have a clue how to though). According him, he e-mailed paypal 3 days ago on the freezing matter and they haven't gotten back to him about it. He sent me another invoice with the insurance added on, which I didn't want in the first place. I asked him to remove it, but he told me that insurance must be paid for if I'm using a "credit card." Now both the paypal freeze and the added insurance just sent up red flags in my head. How is this possible when I can ask for no insurance in begin with? Is this normal or am I right being a little paranoid about this seller right now?

From time to time you did get a rotten apple seller or buyer on ebay. For the most part all of the ebay folks are hard working honest people that are BTW very helpful.

Ok your sticky situation.

First, contact Paypal yourself. Find out 1) if there is a problem and 2) if there is how to solve it

Secondly, make sure you communicate clearly with the seller letting the seller know before things go any further you must look into this matter first yourself.

Now, I also, strongly recommend you go to the EBAY FORUMS. You will find many knowledgable ebay folks there. Also, they will know where to go to report if in fact you have been scammed. Also, they will be able to look at this situation, your specific auction and find out what if any problems are happening. They are also up to date on paypal problems if any. So go to them and find out what they recommend. Trust me you'll be thankful you did.

Ultimately, how to handle this is your decision. But first try and figure what the problem is and then how to handle it.

Good luck to you. Have a blessed day.

There's some really good help you can get right on eBay.
Go to Community (top of page)>Answer Center>Bidding.
There's people there who are extremely knowledgeable about all the workings of eBay who answer all questions. You will usually get an answer back within 10 minutes or so.
These people are all volunteers who have been with eBay for years and have seen every problem you can think of and also know ALL the rules and regulations of eBay.
Post this same question there and follow their responses.

Go to paypal and see why the freeze. Look at the transactions on your account and see if the give an explanation. You can cancel a payment by going to your transactions on paypal and clicking on the part that says cancel.

First of all, check the seller's feedback. If they have lots of it and 100% positive or close to it, then they are probably genuine. Keep the communication open and get help from ebay if you need to.
