The house that we are renting we have been in the past year and three months. We have new neighbors. They are ALWAYS watching us. The only reason that they don't like us is because the house that we are renting is run down, my husband has tattoos and our friends are black. They are uppedy out of towners. We are living in this house until we can get approved for a home loan-not gonna rent another house because we want to put that money towards a home of our own. Day and night every time we walk outside they are looking.

give them a show. sounds like they do not have any kind of life of their own, ignore them and they may get bored.

Well, if I were in your position, I'd clean up the outside of the house the best I could (plant some flowers, wash the sidewalks down, pull the weeds, clean up the trash) and make the place look as presentable as possible. Then, I'd bake a cake and invite the neighbors in for cake and coffee. Possibly they won't come. But you will have done your best to make friends and they will know you are welcoming people. If they do anything that harrasses you, you can ask them to stop (warn them nicely), and if they don't you should call the police. Nobody has the right to stalk anyone. Just because you have different life styles, doesn't mean you aren't all nice folks.

maybe it is that they are uneasy .
You know, there is no need for them to be like that,
but they don't
They may have all sorts of fears & silly delusions, about all around them
Make sure the hostile feelings do not come from you
I know it is not easy to do,
but how about baking them a nice homely cake or some cookies, and taking them around.
just introduce your self, and ask them if they would like to come in for coffee some afternoon and chat .
try not ,to watch them watching you , ignore the stares ,
as if they were not there .
( after all being watched, cannot realy hurt you can it )
Remember!!! there is nothing better than a great big smile for difusing a rude stare !!! ( if that is what it is )
Try your hardest ,to be your own freindly selves

Wave and be friendly. You might blow their stereotyping of you out the window if you're nice to them. If you're mean and rude to them, in their mind that would only prove their theory right that you're trash. So rise above their prejudice and see what happens. The least that will happen is you'll be able to look in the mirror and know that you're a good person and have done nothing to provoke the issue.

Ur neighbours should realise that its the owners resposibility to upkeep this house not yours as ur only renting. Maybe they are wary of u? Best thing i can suggest is just you popping round to theirs and inviting them round for a meal. I know this sounds silly but they may well accept. And if they dont like u just cos ur hubbie has tattoo's and ur friends are black then id steer well clear of them!

Have a cookout and invite them over.
Ask their advice.
Ask a favor.
Do a favor.
Ask how they're doing.
In short, buck their stereotypes and judgements!!

Having tatoos myself, people always look at me. Having Black friends too, I always get looked at. My wife is asian, We get looks. The old saying, looks can kill, is false, so smile and wave back!! They will stop looking or other people will start trying to figure out what you're waving at!!

there probably isnt. i understand it compeletly because im now living in a place like that, its horrible. they also say rude things and laugh as you walk up the road. but we have something that they cant touch so they watch in amazement, fools.

Well! you could try socializing with them like asking them to come over for tea once and then check if there is any change in their behaviour.
you can always give one chance for them to change their attitude and behaviour towards you. otherwise curtly ask them to mind their own business.

Maybe the they think that you are selling drugs or something because they dont know you so why dont you just go and introduce yourselves to them and maybe you can clear some things out
