From what you've described it sounds like this married man's conscience caught up with him just in time. Not knowing what the letter actually said, there is a hint that it may have expressed some inappropriate feelings towards a woman other than his wife. Consider the writing of the letter a form of therapy, he got it out of his system, the thoughts and feelings he may be having for someone other than his wife. I suggest he gets some professional counseling if he struggles with the issues of infidelity. It could help clear his head before he makes a stupid, regret full mistake that could end his marriage. Once that trust, ( in the marriage vows ) is broken it's very difficult to repair. Good luck to this man for continuing to honor his marraige above what is commonly referred to as temptation...

It would depend on what the letter was about. If it said sweet nothings then yes it was an emotional affair. A man should be writing his wife a sweet nothing letter. If the tables were turned and the man found a sweet nothing letter that his wife wrote to another man how would they feel.

Defiantly it's cheating....

If you look at a woman, or even trying to pick her up, I would say this is not cheating, this a reaction.. but if I sit down and write a letter... that means that I have been thinking about her for some time, means that she is on my mind, means that I really want her.... otherwise, I will not concentrate and put my thoughts in writing..

Yes it's cheating as the book says..

Its worse than cheating on your wife man. Its one thing to know someone cheated to you and its another to actually read your wifes/husband's love letter to another man/woman.
Anyways, what id**t still writes letters?? if you have to play man, you need a diploma..

only in his mind. At least you stopped before you gave her the letter. Throw the letter away and turn the passion toward your wife.

There is something called emotional cheating. This is where you may not act upon anything, but you are very much attached to someone else, and therefore neglect your spouse. Quite often, it produces the same marital problems as if you had actually had sex with someone else. I'd say listen to your conscience. If its bothering you, it was probably wrong.

most will consider it cheating
but
i would not really consider it cheating
coz if you only think of it and not do anything is actually normal
for a guy
unless he sends the letter

What was the intention of the letter? If it was just an intent to say, "Hello, how have you been," then I would say NO. If the intent was to see if they wanted to get back together, then I would say YES.
