If you saw his appearance on GMA, he talked about his alcohol abuse and his attempts to reconcile with Jews for his tirade at the arresting police officer. They followed his interview with thoughts from others about atonement and when to forgive a person. What do you think? Should Hollywood and movie-goers shun him or forgive him?

Mel Gibson is human and humans make mistakes. Why should one mans words worry the world so? Isn't he intitled to his opinion? Shouldn't we worry more about what choices our government is making - or - dah---------- lets worry about what a movie star is saying and doing? People better start worrying more about what is going to happen to us as a nation-because it seems to me - we have a bulls eye on us! And getting blown out of the water is more important that what Mel is doing.

I believe he is anti semetic, and I believe he probably meant what he said.
He took a lot of flac from Jewish Hollywood when he did try to make the Christ movie, whatever the name was.
So he may have had an extra chip on his shoulder. Not that that is an excuse by any stretch.
He probably sat down with his PR people (maybe even Jewish as well), and figured out the best things to say. I don't believe him, honestly.
There have been black celberites who have said vile things about whites and Jews and have been forgiven. Queen Latifah is just one of them. So whats good for the goose is good for the gander, here.
Mel will have to be extra careful and behave himself, as he is under the microscope. I don't think most people are horribly surprised honestly by what he said, but at least to his credit he is on tv trying to save face, a good effort is at least half the battle.

Well if you think about it there have been other stars that have done worse. He is a man he messed up when a person drinks it makes them change they say and do things that they would not normally do. A lot of people have drinking problems and they never say I'm sorry. I messed up he did and admitted he had a problem. There would not have been as big a deal if he had not been a star. Now would there? So life goes on and maybe he gets help and when he feels all of the stress baring down on him he finds another way to handle it. Have you ever done something real stupid and then felt bad for it did you fess up to it? Were you for given?

He might have some rage or anger issues that he has to have control over. He seemed very uncomfortable while talking to Diane Sawyer and even talked about choking a toaster. I think being drunk just brought out that rage. I think what he needs to check into is a anger management program. I think that if you pushed too many of his buttons he would unleash all that rage without being drunk. Just my opinion so I may be totally wrong.
You have to forgive people or it just eats you up.

He made a mistake while intoxicated. Alcohol effects not only your physical control, but your mental control is markedly diminished and you are essentially in an abnormal state of mind.

Hollywood is a difficult town to live in with all the press these celebrities get. They virtually are under a microscope at all times.

This is a perfect opportunity for him to clean up his act, declare himself an alcoholic, abstain from liquor, and move on with his life.

he disses Jews so what half the Jews were killed by ancestors of people u meet everyday who didn't stop the genocide anyways when they were living so theyre responsible.
and hes got enough money and commonsense not to care what the whole world -let alone Hollwood- thinks about his movies, beliefs, and exploits.

The only way I would shun him is if he starts making bad movies.
Otherwise, his opinions are his own - what pisses me off is he drove drunk and could've killed somebody. I hope is drivers license was revoked and he's punished like a normal person. If so, let it go.

He`s an anti Semite drunk. Would I choose him for a friend? Probably not. Will I watch his movies? Sure, he`s a good actor, he proved that with his apologies!

I think he should be forgiven, come on, he has 7 children and he probably has apologized more to them than to the public... so give him a break, I don't think he meant it, he was just wasted...
