I don't think Air America has been that strong an influence on liberals either, and they'll still be on the air at least through the elections. They couldn't attract sponsors because business sides with the Republicans.

Air America's audience consisted mainly of Neocons just waiting to label all Liberals with the crap they heard. Now that even Neocons have stopped listening, Air America has no audience. Could we all possibly hope that Fox News and Rush Limbaugh go the same route?
The demise of Air America won't stop the slide of opinion away from the Republican Party, the Republicans themselves are responsible for that.

9-29-06 -- The latest ratings have come out. From a year ago to right now, MSNBCs ratings are up 18 percent overall, 13 percent among viewers 25 to 54, Keith Olbernmann's ratings are up 37 percent (!) and the factor ratings are down 20 percent.
In fact, FOX's ratings are lower than they were five years ago. In May alone FOX had a 22 percent drop in the 25 to 54 demo, and an 8 percent drop overall. And the factor has lost a million viewers a night from October of 2004 when O'Reilly averaged 3.1 million viewers a night, to now when O'Reilly averages 1.6 million viewers a night. In the latest Neilson's The Factor actually lost in the crucial 18-54 category to Keith Olbermann's Countdown, a big blow for Fox.
And all 11 of FOX's regular shows ratings are down, four of them are down by 15 percent or more.

Fox news lost money for years before they made it thanks to millionaire Rupert Murdock paying the bill. The talk show hosts could not all agree so Air America never had total support. I will tell you Thom Hartmann is coming and is already beating Rush in the ratings in Seattle.

Seeing as though no one was listening to Air America, why else would the go bankrupt, I don't think it'll have any effect whatsoever.

Maybe liberals don't respond to a blowhard spouting off for 3+ hours a day? We don't really need a lot of reminding about what's right. I guess it's a sign of integrity.

AA going bankrupt will have no political fall out for either party. It just means that the left wing won't pay their bills, but will continue to fill the airways with their shrill rhetoric.

I agree ZERO. Air America's bankruptcy will have no effect BECAUSE NO ONE LISTENED TO THEIR LOOPY IDEAS. THAT'S WHY THEY COULDN'T ATTRACT AN AUDIENCE AND SPONSORS. Now they're going to stiff the people who loaned them money. Typical loony lefty behavior.
