I did some trap shooting this weekend in northern California and the place would let you use one of their 12 guages for the traps if you're a member. Great time. But you had to bring your own rifle if you wanted to do target practice on their paper target range. I don't want to buy one/keep it in the house with young kids about. But wondered if it's common to be able to rent one for a weekend. Should have asked the guy at the range - but didn't think of the question until I got home. Thanks.

By going to actual Rifle Firing Ranges or Parks that may or may not require membership. But if you lock up your weapon safely i see not problem to buying one.
