Either! I came to the end of a contract a while ago and rang vodafone to ask what they could offer as an upgrade. I then checked out what they could offer and they weren't that great. So i looked around and found a couple of handsets I liked (that were being offered for free with new vodafon contracts). i then rang vodafone back and asked if I could have one of them. Initially they said no, but when i said I would then cancel my contract as i could get one with a new deal (i didnt mention it was still with them and they didnt ask) they agreed i could have the one i wanted. It may not work everytime but they defineately wwant to keep your business so worth a try! If you dont mind changign your number then there are plenty of great deals ou there offering free phones (my partner just got a new one and got an i-pod as well) so just cancel your old contract and start again.

this will depend on your network provider, usually at the end of a contract term you are allowed to upgrade for free and change your tariff etc, you should be able to keep your old number. good luck hope you get what you want

If you want to change your no. then you would be better taking out a new contract as there are ALWAYS better deals available to new customers, even if you plan to stay on same network.

I think asking for a new SIM card would change your number, the SIM is what holds all your phone's information, so really all you need to do is request a new SIM with your new phone.
