K-5 Elementary School. 6-8 Middle school OR 7-8 Junior High 9-12 High School Above 12- College Middle School (6-8) were the worst years of my life and a waste of my/everyone's time. The entire 3 years they're preparing you for high school. (I start high school in august). Everything leading up to high school is stupid AF!

Depends on the school district. In some places it's the last year of elementary, and in some it's the first year of middle school. Usually it just depends on the capacity of the schools. If the elementary building has more room and the middle school is at capacity or overcrowded, then they'll obviously put the 6th graders in elementary, or vice versa.

Where I live, sixth grade is considered middle school. When I was in the sixth grade, (back with the dinosaurs!), middle school (juniour high school back then) didn't start until seventh grade.

Back in the day, we called it JR. High
grades 6, 7, 8
I think "middle school" is a crappy term. I don't use it.
