You know I had the exact same thought.......
OK, it's probably just a coincidence. He was old after all and gay guys are known for their hard living but it certainly was convenient timing. Of course the fact that he was about ready to die anyway would have made killing him all the more attractive as a gambit; I mean the all-important "credible deniability" was built in.
You probably know that somebody did a study of all the political figures who've died in plane crashes in the last 50 years and found that virtually all of them were Democrats. The only Republicans in the list (two I think) were both on the outs with the GOP establishment when they had their ah, unfortunate accidents.....
