They have online companies where you do it yourself. My dad used one. We got a lot of response. More than with the agent.

A lot of people in our area are making their for sale signs themselves,it`s a great idea,I bought both of my properties from the local newspaper,I sold my last house through an estate agent it sold before they even got the details ready,,3 hours and I had to pay £1,600 never again

List on one of the For Sale By Owner sites, however a agent will do a great job of advertising and get it out on the market , and you don't have to deal with the hassel of all the paper work.

That's a rather broad question.

"Place an ad in the newpaper"
"Hold an open house"
"Word of mouth (which, I've actually seen work well)"
- all of there could be legitimate answers.
Is that the kind of stuff you want?

I'd suggest that you look for a book on that subject.

Check amazon.com, pick a couple, write down the ISBN, and then go to half.com to buy it.

why would you want to? it is said that people who sell their own houses get between 10 and 20 percent less and takes longer to sell then using a realtor. also you would have to have your own open houses, do the contracts, see if the person is qualified to buy the house, and so on and so on.
