Love is blind... only because reality sets in after marriage... the bills, the job, the newborns, the pressures of coping with the real world sometimes puts a dampner on what we thought was undying love and devotion... but as we grow we can also renew these vows of love...

I think it is an eye opener because during a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship everything seems all good but as soon as the relationship goes longer and u take that extra step then u do begin to see a different side of people. U begin to get the messy i don't give a damn side, the i can do what i want to do now cause u aint going nowhere side, and the i don't give a fu** side, and now that u have married this person u find it very hard to get out of only because u have grown to love the shi** out of them and now it's just so hard to walk away and u wish u would have seen that side b4 getting married and now it just feels to late and u begin to think "Well i guess i can deal with it" "I don't want to start all over now". All in all they do change when they feel like they have put allot of time into the relationship and they know what type of person u r to not just settled or go with any o person, so they know that certain things they do is somewhat acceptable. Good luck.

Indeed. During the initial part of a relationship, it's always very beautiful. As time goes by, things are taken for granted. It is often after marriage and staying together for some time that both parties realise or see the bad side of each other. Then again, it may not apply to everyone. Thus, marriage should be a huge decision and not to be taken lightly.

Love is blind. Well, I don't agree. Love is NOT blind, but accepting of the things that are not very attractive that the loved one has. God loves us even though we choose to disobey Him and hang Him on a cross.

Marriage is an eye opener. That is why we choose to love our spouse on a daily basis. Everyday, we must choose to continue in our relationship. It is not easy to be with someone that ignores us, or blows their nose at the table. Yuk! But, we don't get rid of them. Instead we choose to love them in spite of their faults.

I have been married for 38 years. It is not easy for me or him. Of course, I am perfect so he doesn't have too hard a time of it. lol No really, it is hard, but when I feel that I can't take him anymore, than I think of being without him. Good at first, then I would miss him.

I wouldn't trade my hubby for nothing but yes love is blind & marriage is an eye-opener cause I had no idea how hard it was to make a marriage a solid & good one for 2 people & possibly kids to all be content.

True Love

I feel you in my heart
with every breath I take.

I smell your scent of happiness
in every morning we awake.

I touch your smooth and tender face
with every chance l get.

The feeling of your presence
makes me happy, we met.

I know everything, but nothing about you
and I love you in so many wonderful ways.

My heart knows when you’re near me
and it knows when you’re away.

It doesn’t matter what you look like
neither tall, short, skinny or fat.

Your skin is soft without color
and hair as smooth as a cat.

My love for you will never change
and you will always be on my mind.

I wish you could see what I see
from the heart of one who’s blind.

This can be very true. Especially if you marry at a fairly young age. I can tell you from my experience that a couple must think long and hard about their readiness for the commitment they are making to each other. Both parties have to work at a marriage. No one person can make it work all by themselves.

Living with someone 24/7 is much different than the romantic illusions we carry around. Smelly socks, arguments, and bad table manners can certainly change these romantic ideals but hey that is life.

True. When you're in love you're so stupid you overlook everything. After you get married you suddenly start to see all the problems. They were always there, but you just couldn't see em. I know. How dumb we are in love.
