Well, *did* you lie to her? If you didn't, I wouldn't worry about it. Some people get some sick thrill in trying to get people fired.
I remember when I was working at a doctor's office for the first time, I was trying to help this lady on the phone. She was an old lady and I did not know what she was saying, not because I was new, but because her words weren't clear enough. She was getting aggrivated with me because I could not understand, so I handed it over to this woman that had worked there for a while. Apparently the lady was trying to schedule an appointment of some sort. I heard the woman I worked with say, "Anyone in our office would be able to help you schedule that appointment." then I heard her say, "Well, she's new here." Then when the woman I worked with got off the phone, she goes, "That old woman." and we asked what she said. She goes, "When I told her anyone could make an appointment for her she got smart and said, 'Well, SHE didn't know what she was doing.'"
So yeah, people like that just love to get other people into trouble. You could try talking to your supervisor about it. Tell them you did not intend to lie to the customer about the product. At least it'll cover your butt for if that unruly customer tried to cause problems for you. Always, ALWAYS cover your butt in the work place!
