I agree with you. I appreciated the effort & care put into those films. It either followed an old-fashioned fairytale or taught us a lesson (or both), and the animation itself tried to be beautiful and fluid and vibrant. I just think about the way Cinderella's dress sparkled, and how the sparks flew out of the fairy godmother's wand in "Cinderella". Most of the recent films I've seen have either a burp or fart joke in them. I think it's lame. If you play to the lowest common denominator long enough - well, you know what I mean.

Walt Disney was a very talented man and brought something different to the world. No one can ever share the same ideas that he had. The worlds changing and i spose the old disney movies about princesses were more for females than males but the new disney movies are unisex. I personally love all disney animation movies i think that there fantastic and imaginative but i guess everyone has a differernt oppinion

They've ran out of ideas. You can only make so many prince saves princess and they fall in love and live happily ever after stories. And Disney has a lot! I agree though; they just arent like they used to be! It seems that now a day all kids movies have adult jokes blended into them.

Walt Disney is no longer around. Disney has pretty much gone downhill since then. Every hit they have had is involved with Pixar now. There is a deal going on to merge the two. Disney has self-admitted that Pixar is carrying them lately. I think it's a great idea. They both get something out of the deal. Besides, the whole fairy tale era has gone and you can't change something that will forever be legendary in someone's heart. You can't add to memories. Does that make sense?

Its easier and faster to put out a piece of crap.
Faster to do the animation by computer, and faster to throw together some lame storyline with a few lame jokes. A few lame characters, and there ya go.
Kind of like real movies LOL. They're mostly awful these days, the actors are weak, and the movies arent as grand as they used to be.
Yes, it is sad.

I think that it is because we are in the "new" generation of movies, and they want to try out new things in the movies. I miss the old-fashioned movies too. My favorites are Lion King,Bambi,Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. I loved the old fashioned ones. Luckily, they are still on video.

Besides the fact that Mr Disney isn't around anymore, I think childern are harder to please now-a-days, they don't seem to be drawn to the simplistic and sweet style of stories in the original Disney movies. I think it's a real shame because those older Disney movies are some of my favorite. Childern seem to be maturing very young these days. I think that's sad.

We all love them. But the sad truth is, times are different and the kids are different. Princesses and happily ever after doesn't seem to cut it for a lot of these kids. I loved Cinderella and Snow White!

I am not sure if I am ready for re-makes. Ultimately, money is the bottom line in their formula. However there is something to be said about the classics. They prove to be a window in time, complete with more than a share of "political incorrectness."

There is already enough of those. You can rent the old movies if you like them. Disney doesn't want to fall into a formula and I think it is a good idea that they don't use a formula. Personally, I don't care much for Disney but The Lion King is one of my favorite movies.
