I have a belkin wireless router connected in the living room computer. I have a laptop as does my mom and other members of my family. One of us got a new computer and I can't find the network key that I wrote in the original manual (I can't find the manual) so we can't set up the new computer for wireless. I know in the past I've found the network key on the original computer, in the living room. WHERE do I find it? How can I acquire that network key, or how do I reset it so we can have wireless on all computers in the household?

From any computer that works open a command prompt window and type ipconfig /all and write down the default gateway address. Open up your browser and enter the ip address that you wrote down in the address bar. Enter the userid and password for your router and you should get the first screen for your router. look around for wireless setup, wireless security, wireless encryption or similar. When you find the right screen, you should be able to find the wep or wpa key code originally entered.

If you can't find it then there's no where to my knowledge you can access it.

You'll need to reset your wireless router and get a new network key. Use the following site to help you generate a random one:

Write it down and save it in a safe place somewhere in your home.

I think you are referring to a MAC address. It is printed on the wireless device attached to the computer or, if it is builtin to the motherboard, probably printed on the belly of the laptop. Look there or check the owners manual for the laptop.

There is a Reset button on your router. Just hit it & you can redo everything again.
