Is there any way I can play movie files I downloaded on to my computer on my Xbox 360? If there's a way to do this without a DVD Burner that would be great.

You can download videos off of Xbox Live Marketplace (requires broadband and a free Silver subscription). If you want to play your own videos, you'll need to have a computer running Windows Media Center Edition. While the 360 can play audio and photos from non-Media Center PCs, the only way to get play non-Marketplace videos is to use the Media Center Extender feature on the Xbox 360, which obviously requires a separate Media Center PC.

Beyond that, you'll need to have the Xbox 360 on an 802.11a wireless connection or a direct wired connection on your home network. 802.11g does not have enough bandwidth to reliably transmit videos (especially not high definition videos).
