I think its funny that so many people seem downright offended by this question and start shouting it shouldnt be banned!
Obviously you cant ban love. If anyone had the power to ban love they could never enforce it. Love is spontaneous, and if anyone here has ever tried to stop loving someone they know its impossible! So people would continue to love anyway, and noone really could have the power to take it away!
But taking this as a thought exercise, I'd say the reason love should be banned is because it drives people to madness. Although love can be a very healthy thing (and often times it is!), it also has a power over the minds of people. It causes other emotions like sadness, jealousy, rage. And it effects behavior, even causing behaviors like stalking, suicide, murder.
It seems then, that love is a powerful emotion, and is intimately entwined with other emotions. In a "rational" world we look down on emotion as being irrational. When people are in love they behave in a way that often times (for the good or the bad) is completely irrational and unpredictable.
Therefore it should be banned because it produces a spiral of other emotions, causes destructive behavior, and leads people to become irrational and unpredictable.
I hope this reason works for you...but if you DO have the power to ban love....please dont.

it shouldn't and can't. everyone loves someone or something, it's a natural feeling, we can't ban it. it's like saying you can't be happy. it just isn't possible
