A sty is due to eye strain, which lowers your resistance to bacteria. To heal a sty you need to brew a cup of hot tea, allowing the teabag to to soak for ten minutes. Take the tea bag (poultice) and place it on your affected eye and leave it there over night by tying gauze or a clean scarf around your head. This tea poultice will bring the sty to a head and reduce the swelling. Then; Make your self an appointment for a eye examination, as corrective lenses will eliminate this problem in the future.

I agree with the warm (clean) washcloth--the stye will rise to the surface and eventually go away. Don't try to pop it.

Also, make sure it is a sty and not pinkeye or something like that (if eyelashes are sealed shut with dried mucus, this is probably not a stye).

She needs to leave it alone, as touching it can spread the infection. A warm wash cloth can help. Here is a good site with info:

let it run it's course but a little warm green tea bag on the eye once in a while and some eyedrops when nessesary will comfort the lid and eye.

it does work.. but let the sty go the course it'll be gone (on average) with in one week. just make sure she doesn't irritate the lid so much so she could get an infection.

but the warm green tea bag on the lid sure feels good.

unfortunately most times you just have to let time take its course and let the body heal itself, most times a sty is not bacterial. Try washing her eye with Johnson's baby shampoo, may help certainly won't hurt

A warm compress will help raise the infection, other than that not much you can do. Sorry, those hurt! You might want to give her a little tylenol, watch so that the infection doesnt spread and dont let her pick or poke at it. If it spreads you might have to take her to the MD.

A sty comes from bacteria. Teach your daughter to wash properly and wash her bed sheets for a change.

You're probably running a dirty household.
