Believe it or not some major religions (Christian and others) don’t have a problem with abortion and right now the law of the land doesn’t have a problem with abortion, therefore its not murder. Murder is a criminal offence and is punishable under the law.
Don’t respond to her, you won’t change her mind anymore then she’ll change yours. Live and let live.
Yes, she could have done a much better job of making her point, by calmly explaining her position then agree to disagree on this issue.
For the record I wish no-one would need or want an abortion. I do believe in birth control.
Now I’m going to say something that going to make a lot of people mad at me. I don’t know if you used religion in your first statement or not, this is to everyone who does. Once you have to use religion to make a point then you’ve lost the argument. We are free in this country to worship how we see fit and not have the values of one religion forced upon us. I can easily make the case that theft is bad and not use religion, same with most of the laws we live by (although some laws just don’t make since), even if they are listed in the Bible or not. Just because your belief system says that abortion is murder don’t give you the right to force your views on someone else. You are free to live them if you wish, if you believe that abortion is wrong then don’t have one, but you can’t force your religious views on someone else, that’s just plain wrong. If you don’t think so, just imagine a religion where a woman has to marry, to obey their husband not matter what, can’t ever get a divorce, can’t hold a job, can’t vote, must have children, can’t use birth control, etc. Yes some radical Christian religions believe that as well as some other religions.
If you want to make abortion illegal then do it without using religion, tell me why, back it up with facts. Explain why life begins at conception, and not at birth. Once you can make a good argument then persuade me and others. Do you make an exception for rape, incest, life of the mother, etc? What about birth control, some prevent the fetus from implanting in the womb is that murder, some foods might do the same thing is it murder if you had sex and then ate them? Listen and respond.
Telling someone that it a sin and they’ll go to hell will not help your case. All that does is hurt your case, it shows that you’re trying to force your belief system on someone else.
I’m going to put on my flame proof suit now.

I dont think she has the right to totally freak on you, but abortion is not murder in my opinion. I dont believe in doing it myself, but thats a personal choice and you shoudlnt force views like that on anyone. You should have just said that you dont believe in it because for you it seems like murder. Being a guy, you probably dont understand what its like for a woman to become pregnant and in some cases, if a baby is going to be seriously deformed or have a life threatening disease then maybe abortion is the best option. I dunno...I think your both wrong.

I would e-mail her back and say "funny, but it looks like you are the one trying to force your opinions on me." Wow, ya, it may not be murder in the eyes of the law, and in a physiology point of view, but it is in a spiritual point of view and obviosly this person it too ignorant and imature to go to a deeper level. Don't even think twice about it, thats what she wants.

In my opinion I do think its totally wrong, whether I'm christian, Atheist, Muslim or anything just because you created life and destroying it. But on the other hand she does have her own views and opinion on the issue whether right or wrong. Maybe you should just not talk to her because you guys obviously don't seem to get along.

I just don't believe there are people out there that think it is OK. I just can't wrap my thoughts around it. And if they do, why do that have to be so abusive to people who don't think it is OK? I don't talk like that to people that support abortion, I know LOTS who do. I just don't agree with it. Very sorry that you had to receive and read that.

Well, she may not agree with you but she has the right to her own opinion. That was pretty nasty of her though, she sounds pretty immature. Hypocritical too, looks to me like she is forcing her opinion on you. That is why I don't include my email in my profile.
