This is a serious question: What came first, the monkey or the chicken?

Monkeys emerged about 30 million years ago, but small, non-carnivorous birds like chickens didn't evolve until significantly later, only a few million years ago. So the monkey came first.

short answer chicken (due to their relationship with reptiles) long answer neither (if you study evolution you'll know that those types of questions are wrong as one does not just pop into existance!)
