this is my stand.....

it is the age old questoin is the glass half full or half empty i have quite a therory on this, what was the glass before you changed it. if the glass was empty and you filled it half way then wouldnt it be half full because it started empty? and it it was full and you removed half then it would be half full because it used to be full.

now whats yours....

I disagree, though your theory made sense at first. If we consider a person pouring away half his glass, if would also be considered half empty as he emptied his glass halfway as well. I think we can argue this case both ways depending on how we want to justify our cases. For me, I would just rate it on whether we are more on the optimistic or pessimistic side.

I know, I know you meant "and if it was full and you removed half then it would be half empty because it used to be full".

Ok, if that is what it means to you.

But the point of the question originally was to understand the positive or negative attitudes of individuals.

If you are finding situations as a glass half full you will approach it with a positive attitude and usually succeed.

If on the other hand you find most situations as a glass half empty you will usually be depressed and unsuccessful.

It really has nothing to do with a glass of liquid.

Over simplification of some things can lead to misunderstanding.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

i really think this theory only started to see which way humans look at life. the negative ones would say half empty and the positive ones would say half full. It really just started as a psychological way of viewing peoples internal feelings towards the world. It was neevr meant to be taken so far into thinking. However i say half empty, but im negative and go through life and have learned to accept thats my way of thinking. ♥
But yea what you said really does make sense if it where meant as a brain teaser.

The saying pertains more to a philosophy. A pessimist says it's half empty, an optimist says it's half full.
