I do remember a feeling of skepticism about Santa. I don't remember how old I was -four perhaps, but I caught my dad shaking a cup full of coins making a jingle bell Santa's sleigh kinda noise outside my bedroom door on Christmas Eve. I opened the door, and remember feeling "Ah ha! I knew I was right!" . There was no shock or a feeling of total childhood destruction. I don't believe my parents really played into all that stuff in the first place.
