I'm thinking of getting a financial career, however my degree is of engineering. Btw, i'm from singapore

Here in the United States, the financial industry employs people who are basically salespeople. If you like selling bonds, stocks, insurance, etc then you're all set.

Most people who try financial services didn't know that it 's a pure sales job (and high-pressure sales at that!) when they get in. They thought that they'd be paid for giving advice in a nice office. While such jobs might exist, they are usually the job of an accountant.

So, if you like selling stocks, get the CFA.
