Make the test yourself, get drunk and see how sound thinking you are.
This ancient Latin phrase translates literally "in wine truth," and the Romans were a very literal people. In one sense, it meant that when you drink wine, you tell the truth. Over the centuries, many have had the experience of saying something you didn't mean (or didn't mean to say out loud, at any rate) under the influence of a glass or two. A person's character is revealed somewhat by how they behave when intoxicated, and this is another of its classical meanings. Do you keep your wits about you when the wine is flowing freely, or are you the person who wants to drive when everybody else knows better?

The truth does come out when a man or women is drunk. But a little wine or liquors can just make a person lie a little better. I would be very careful with any body getting out of a relationship

Among the various documented effects of alcohol is "the loss of inhibitions". It means that we do things and say things that we would not ordinarily do or say when we are sober. These things maybe repressed feelings or desires. or words that could not be said in formal conversations. There might be truth in his words. But one can never be sure, until there would be consistency in his actions and words when the effects of alcohol subside. For when a person has genuine love, he will always find a way to express it openly to his beloved. As they say, true love conquers all!

There may be some truth to this. I'm much less cunning and calculating if I've had something to drink...which is one reason why I avoid booze. I have used alcohol to loosen other people's lips though ! Work incredibly well on some people

Someone may tell you the truth while they are under the influence but it doesn't mean they have the wherewith all to act upon that. Forget him unless he gets brave enough to change his life to include you.

Not very serious. Alcohol isn't called liquid courage for nothing. The only time you can take anyone seriously is when they are sober.
