There's a pub in Durham called "The Shakespeare" which claims to be the most haunted pub in the UK... York claims to have at least 140 ghosts, making it one of the most haunted cities in the UK

Most people seem to think that ghost hunting is best done at night. Not sure if I've ever seen one myself - think I have, but might have been dreaming

If you're interested in the science behind what people are actually experiencing, you should check out this article:

which claims that ghosts are all in the mind...

there is a castle in Ireland, that is supposed to be the most haunted placed, but I can't remember which one! The old mental health hospital in Bodmin, Cornwall used be a creepy old place -it is torn down now. I was there as a student nurse in 1992, St.Lawrences it was called. It was a work house before a mental hospital - big old Victorian place. Probably wimpy homes now, though

Perhaps "The Ancient Ram" in Wotton-Under-Edge -

As one of England's most notorious haunted houses, "The Ancient Ram" certainly looks the part.

Haunted by two lustful demons (an incubus and a succubus), a ghostly witch, strange glowing lights...almost every conceivable type of spook, in fact.

Shrouded in autumnal mist, the centuries-old former hostelry squats half-submerged beside the road, a mass of uneven stone walls and decaying, darkened windows.

"The Ancient Ram" is believed to have witnessed ritual child sacrifice, black magic rituals, suicide and to have been the hideout of highwaymen.

Northumberland, we cant cant move for lost Roman Legions marching down the old roads causing traffic jams, maurauding Vikings sacking the coastline, ghost ships blocking harbours, dead sailors trying to get a drink at local bars.
Its a damned disgrace, why cant they just stay dead and keep out of our way.
