My best friend has ben seeing this guy and she spends every minute at school hanging out with him, and it makes me mad to know that she would rather spend it with some guy she has known for a couple of months rather than her best friend shes known for 10 years. Anyways the other day she is saying how we are going to be partners for this sport team were trying out for. But I say no because I feel why should I take the time to do something for her when she is not taking anytime to even hang out with me anymore. So I hardly ever really talk to her anymore but I don't really want to lose her as a friend so what should I do?

I know how you feel, it's normal but your friend, unfortunately, is also being "normal" by wanting to spend more time with this guy. She probably thinks you understand. In her mind, you're her best friend and she probably feels that you totally get her wanting to spend this time with this guy.... and that no matter what, you'll still be there for her when she needs you. Right now, she is in lala land infactuated with this guy.... and you need to talk to her if it's REALLY bothering you. But, if I were you, I'd just wait it out... she'll get over this high that she's on soon enough, and get back to her sense, for now, be her partner in the sports team, why wouldn't you, after all, you have been best friends for 10 years, don't let this come between you two. It'll pass, trust me.

When a girl has a new guy in their life that they really care about, they can sometimes get carried away and lose sight of some important things like their friends. She will get over it though, trust me. Maybe wanting to be partners with you for this sports team, is her way of putting aside time to spend with you. It way make u closer.

the exact thing happened to me in high school. but i was the girl with the boyfriend, and i am now 25 with few friends, and none from high school. i suggest you stick it out with her. unfortunately the inevedability of them breaking up is great.and if i could see my best friend again, it would make me very happy.

ur friend is blinded by love. it's hard for her to realise it. compromise with her. if she could ask you to be her partner this shows she definitely still care for you. it's best if you tell her what you feel and ask her to spend more time with you.

hm, guess thats how my friend feels...well you probably should. Maybe she feels guilty that she hasn't been spending enough time with you, and you just turned her down. Give her another chance!!

Hormones have come into play in this scenario... the time spent with him is different than time spent with you... though you should continue to be friends with her
