i belive they will
1. dump sheff
2. dump giambi
3. dump randy
4. dump jaret wright
5. trade arod to angels for ervin santanna, chone figgins, and an elite prospect
6. resign moose to a SMALLER deal
7. call up phillip hughes
so here is the team:
cf- jhonny damin
ss- jeter
rf- abreu
2b- cano
lf- matsui
3b- chone figgins
c-posada
dh- wilson
1b- andy phillips
bench- cabrera, crosby, guiel, bernie, cairo and fasono
rotation
1. chien ming wang
2. offseason addition
3. moose
4. ervin santanna
5. phillup hughes/pavono
bullpen-
farnsworth, villone, dotel, procter, myers, sturtze
o and mariano rivera
this would give them a much lighter payroll and really take that 200 million dollar burden off their back. they would be a younger, more athletic team and they still would have jeter and rivera
quite frankly, thats all u need

Steinbrenner has his heart set on power and runs. Therefore, like a knucklehead, he'll shun good pitching and pay big bucks for another slugger to replace Sheffield. If reason and the desire to win in the playoffs sets upon Old George, the Yanks will try to get Barry Zito, and if he is truly determined to win next year, he'll dump Johnson and Mussina to get another starter plus Zito. Mussina appears to be back next year unless they get two strong arms, then he's gone.

in case you look on the strikes they have made throughout the previous few off-seasons, the Yankees' concentration seems to be like getting youthful and getting greater desirable defensively...in the event that they might manage Russell Martin's .200 AVG in return for all of the intangibles he brings at the back of the plate, i'm specific they're going to genuinely evaluate extending Granderson inspite of doubts he will ever hit over .250 lower back. that comparable philosophy, notwithstanding, seems to end Swisher's days in pinstripes. Balls saved landing in simple terms out of his attain all 300 and sixty 5 days alongside with a pair serious opportunities against the Tigers. no remember how reliable he's interior the clubhouse, i think of the Yankees are aggressively going to look for a protecting improve. the only way i think of he's retained is that in the event that they land a sensible RF interior the low season, then furnish him a settlement to hold close on because of fact the DH....similiar to the deal Posada have been given some years lower back.

I think they will pick up on Mussina only. I think Sheffield will be gone and I think they need to improve their pitching. I think they should either sign Barry Zito or that guy who won the World Baseball Classic's MVP of Japan. If they do the rotation will look pretty good with Wang, Mussina, Johnson(possibly), Zito, and MVP of Japan. Alos they need to improve iin their bullpen and grab a couple of arms.

I would like to see them go to Japan and get the best Japanese
Thirdbaseman and trade Alex Rodriguez for a good starting pitcher to replace Mussina.

The Bombers need to invest in starting pitchers, especially now after the death of Lidle. They also need to look into a good DH as Sheffiled will likely be gone and Giambi may not return either. A-Rod isn't going anywhere soon. He is a great ball player and needs to find his groove in NY. Let's face it, he played all his previous time in second rate cities so coming to da' Bronx was s shock to him as it is to all players. Look at how Maris was treated in the shadow of Mick. All will pan out for him.
As far as the White Sox, Tigers, Red Sox in the past few years? Good for them. They are all great ball clubs that earned their way to the top. However, NONE of them have achieved dynasty status as the Yanks have. New York is the best city in the world and it only follows that they have the best ball team!
As for me? I'm rooting fot the Tigers all the way (despite the fact that Pudge-Rod is a little weeny).
