If the furnace pilot is on, but no flame appears on the burner assembly, then no gas is making it out. The gas is let out to the burner assembly (like a gas grill) through an electronic control. Your furnace has a small "brain" of electronics that talks to the thermostat, sending gas through the assemble and starting the blower fan whenever the termostat calls for more heat.

Crank your thermostat to 85, and check to see if the furnace kicks on. If it does not, then you have a problem in the controls. If it does, but the blower doesn't come on, you have a bad fan motor. Expect about $350 for either repair.

You did not include the model number for the Nordyne. Turn off the power to the unit and then back on. If it starts working, it is not anything to worry about, unless it keeps happening. If the unit does not start working, then you have a manual reset roll-out switch, or high-limit switch tripped. They are small round devices with two wires and a reset button in the center. The high limit is to protect against low airflow as from a clogged filter, blocked off vent openings, or a failed blower motor. It prevents a serious overheating which can cause a fire or ruin the heat exchanger. It is in the blower section. The roll out is located just above the burner tube opening, and protects against a clogged flue or heat exchanger. If the flame can not go out the vent pipe, it will roll out and melt the wiring and controls in the burner compartment. The cause of the problem should be repaired before putting the unit back into service. They are SAFETIES. It has nothing to do with the gas control valve.

Need more info... Is it a standing pilot (pilot on all the time) or does it spark to light the pilot? Do the burners ever light?

the blower motor may likely have gone south for the winter.
get a universal replacement (cheaper than an exact OEM)
