Just talk to her and see if you get along and thats it, don´t be shy, just be yourself, be neutral too and that´s how it all starts.

just tell her that you like her and maybe would like to be her friend . Maybe you can invite her to help with homework . You don't by presents to be liked ! Just be yourself and everything will go from there.
