My family has a bad history of naming children:
Horace
Willoughby
Elvira
Egwine (I don't even know if I can pronounce that one!)
Looney (That was my Great Grandfather's first name...his Middle and last names gave him the initials of LSD! ....NO JOKE)
Any name after a ficticious character (ie Shelyra)
Any name after a Place (ie Madison comes to mind first)
Any name after a car (ie Mercedes and Porsche)
Any name that no one can spell or pronounce
(I should have followed that with my son's name though, no one gets it right and it seems so basic to me...BRENT)
Any name that has multiple spellings
(ie Tracy/Tracey/Tracie/Tracee, Stacy/Stacey/Stacie/Stacee, Aaron/Erin, Jeff/Goeff, Monica/Monekah..etc)
Any name that is also a LAST name: (ie Jackson, Adams [note the "s" at the end], Smith, Anderson, Christianson, Harrison...etc)
Any name that can too easily be mispronounced as something overtly sexual or simply grotesque or anything that rhymes too easily with something that a child can be made fun of.
(Spacey Tracy, Dizzie Dora, Chester The Molester...etc)
And by all means...NOTHING THAT CONFUSES THE CHILD'S GENDER...granted, the child may not have a problem with it, but trust me, his/her classmates will!
Last but not least : Kearan ( Yes, I know it's supposedly a Celtic name, but my ex-named his fifth son that, and as I predicted, in the Southern US everyone mispronounces it as KAREN!)

Anything that is tough to spell, or that doesn't make it obvious what the kid's gender is, or that forms a stupid pun when combined with a last name should be off everyone's list. Even if you have a famous ancestor with a wacky name copying that name for a kid still is not a great idea.
Examples of each are Robyrta, Robin, Kat Fisch, and Learned Hand. Any kid that starts with those name will spend their life explaining them.

Actually, any real name is OK. It's just when you make up stuff that it gets bad.
I had a friend that worked in the Hospital Respiratory Ward, and he named his daughter Pneumonia and his son Bronchitis!!
See, bad choices!!

If it is a boy it is Gabriel Michael and if it is a girl it is Taylor Marie or Anna Marie...
I would never name my kid, Dick, Harriet, Bertha, Martha, Oliver, Stanley... it is all a matter of personal taste though..
