No doubt he is. pound for pound. I would say he is the most balanced out of all the point guards out there. Most point guards dont have the defensive techniques that he has. He reminds me a lot of the "glove " (Gary Payton), in his younger, quicker days. I would take Jason over Wade any day. He can shoot the long ball, and drive to the hole when he needs to. And hwe is one helluva leader.

Nash averages 21.3 points Kidd averages 13.8 Nash averages 11.5 assts Kidd averages 9.6 Nash is shooting 52% Kidd is shooting 42.7 Nash 3 pt % is 52% Kidd is 29% And the best reason why Nash is better New Jersey is 7-11 Phoenix is 11-6 You asked about the NBA today not over a career. Nash did not start out as a starter so his career numbers are lower do to less minutes played. The Nets don't have another guy to get rebounds and that spreads out the rebounding more. You don't need to rebound as a guard if you have big guys who can do it for you. Kidd also plays in the weaker Eastern Conference which is the main reason he has been to the finals.

At one time, he was among the best each season. Now, he is a little past his prime, but still ranks in my top ten. I think Nash, Parker, Bibby, Arenas, Billups, and Iverson are all better then Kidd at the moment. He isn't as good defensively as he once was, and his shooting is very erratic. If it wasn't for his ability to rebound so well, I would probably drop him even further down the list. A wave of new young point guards are on the rise (including Chris Paul, Kirk Hinrich, Deron Williams, and Raymond Felton) all around the league, and Kidd's days are numbered. It's a shame he probably will retire without a title (unless he is willing to accept a lesser role on a better team, like Gary Payton did with the Heat), but he probably will end up in the Hall of Fame, regardless.

One of the best players now and all time. Don't listen to all these
people that say Nash even though Nash is one of the best. Nash
has never gotten his team to the Finals, while Kidd has done it
twice.

No. I'd take Steve Nash. Passing they are about equal. Kidd is a better defender, but a liability on offense b/c he can't shoot. Nash is a constant threat b/c he can shoot from long range, drive, or find a teammate. Nash isn't good on defense, but he does get in the way.
