It's irrational and misguided to believe that a child would suffer some kind of ill effect from being taught by a gay man or woman.
Homosexuality is not contagious. Gay teachers can do just as good a job as any heterosexual teacher. It's not like there will be any covert 'gay training' going on during class time!
Someone saying that they wouldn't allow a gay person to teach a child is no different to saying that they wouldn't allow a gay surgeon to perform surgery on them, or allow a gay judge to lock up that criminal that robbed your Grandma....
there's just no sense to it!

People allow heterosexuals to teach their children. And nuns. Educators need to be trained well and have a devotion and passion for the education of children, which in the US will get you no respect, no appreciation and very little income. If people are willing to go through the BS of the modern American educational system to attempt to educate children who have been raised by morons who hand them every thing they whine for and don't hold them accountable for anything, because they wanted a BABY, not the child that it became about 30 seconds after birth, then let them teach. However that makes them masochists no matter what their sexual orientation.

If he/she was a qualified teacher, I would. Most ( I'd say all, but I don't know for sure) sex scandals in schools involve heterosexuals, and you don't see people freaking out over someone being heterosexual. In my school years ago, the male PE teacher had a sexual affair with one of the 7th grade girls. However, he didn't lose his job because he was a winning coach. So, I think the bigger problem is the heterosexuals.

I would and I do. I am a homosexual and I teach my children every day. I would not allow a homophobic racist bigot to teach them though.

As long they have all the qualifying degrees they need to teach the children .why not?They sometimes can make a better teacher than others.

Anyone with morals can teach, doesnt matter their sexual prefrence or religion. Check this out in my high school there was a big scandal over a straight teacher over being flirty and grade "Friendly" with the girls, he got busted and fired. There are far worse people who are considered "normal".

Last time I checked your sexual orientation has nothing to do with the way you teach.
As long as you're a good teacher, I don't care what you do in your private life really.... Don't flaunt your lifestyle in front of the kids and everything will be alright (same goes for heterosexual teachers )

of course and most have (knowingly or not) certainly if you had band, drama, art, or for girls gym the chances are high. ( i know we teach everything, but stereotypes exist for a reason!) now if we could just get them to let us teach fashion and get rid of those damn oversized clothes! lololol

at home in his bedroom
that is his or her business
as long as my little boy learns at school and enjoys going there
i have got no problem with the teacher
but if my boy dose not learn then the teacher weather gay or not should be out of there
