Such substances are thoroughly tested for safety before they are released onto the market. Occasional errors have been made over the years of course, and products have been recalled because of unforeseen hazards. But in general there is no need to worry about products that have been in use for a number of years. And new products coming out today are more thoroughly tested than similar products were in the past.
