The term "officemates" implies that this was done by an employer. If so, laws having nothing to do with it, just whether or not you are going to remain employed there. And yes, you can be fired because of this. In 99.9% of cases, you can be fired for anything that doesn't violate equal opportunity laws.

Yes. In Dittoland, where all of the glassey-eyed, pistol waving, bible-thumping social conservatives live, you would be forced to attend speeches by Minutemen, sitting there like a stunned bobblehead, agreeing with everything they said. If you failed to do so, you would be tied up and subjected to 24 hour FOX news and Rush Limbauch presentations until you either became a dogmatic, narrow-minded neocon or you perished.

Did you ever watch those documentaries about Hitler? I suspect those crowds were in some way coerced.

How about Iran? I think there is a nation that may have such a law.

North Korea, China and perhaps some of the more troubled nations in Africa may also have laws like that.

Absolutely not, this is still not a communist country as much as liberals hate to hear that. The speaker may have freedom of speech allowing them to say whatever but it also means you have the freedom to ignore everything said!

Not as a law, but something like custom. in my country, if you leave the speech (while the leader of country is speeking), you'll be punished by death penalty. of course not directly just because of leaving the session, for example because you do not believe in them and do not respect them.
