No, not all of them are, I know for a fact there are some very fine English men and women, on the other hand there are a fair amount who are and with no self awareness, as you've no doubt noticed from some of the answers on here, it's abhorrent to stick ones chest out in pride over imperialism and colonisation it's a disgrace.

I think you have been watching old black & white movies, where English people were depicted as being arrogant, in the real world they are just like any other civilised western nation.

Have you ever been anywhere? It seems like a bit of a judgy statement. I live in the uk now, but used to live in the states and i don't find them to be too bad. you get stuffy snobby people wherever you go, but there are also real people wherever you go too.

I definately think the majority is...I can't forget what the English did to scotland in our history, William Wallace is not forgotten....strangely enough in your schools you don't tell your kids the whole story.
