i've been reading Cosmopolitan for a year or so now, and right now i'm in a prettttty serious relationship. and yesterday my boyfriend and i went shopping for a few things and i got the new issue. it says GUYS & SEX on the cover, and my mom saw it. she knows i've been reading this magazine, but i don't know. just the way she had said that made me think like she thought i was lying to her, because i had recently told her that i don't want to have sex for a long time. so my question is, do you think that she's assuming i'm having sex or planning on it soon if i keep buying magazines with sex tips in them? expecially if somehow i buy them when i'm with my boyfriend.

OK - you are in a serious relationship, heterosexual, you go out with your boyfriend and buy Cosmopolitan. A mag which carries info on several issues including Guys and sex. So? How are you to have knowledge if not by reading and practicing good advice given by others.
Yes, she may wonder if? But that is natural. Isn't it? She hasn't accused you of lying, has she?
If my daughter told me a boyfriend of hers, slept in her bed with her, and they did not have sex. I would believe her. I have been there.
Know yourself..Try to be as honest as possible. Be aware of not offending others but live the life which you know to be true, before God and man and be happy.

You know she has to be wondering about it, Yes she maybe thinking that you are planning or already have, Look at what society has to show her about the younger generation. As a mother it is her job to look for tail tail signs that may lead to a problem that her daughter is having so she can talk to her about it and help her. As with any Mother she doesn't want her daughter to do that, especially at such a young age. There is so much more to life than sex. She was a young lady once too, and she has met a boy with hormones before or better yet a hormone with a boy inside. I am a guy, older guy and I had sisters that made the mistake of experimenting with sex a too young of age and it will mess with your mind. It will come soon enough, I would sink all my sexual thoughts into getting into a good college or something else. I am sure Mom has told you that your first is going to be painful and the rest isn't much better either and very short. She is a worried Mother and someday you will be in her shoes. Good luck and I hope I helped.

I think on a subconscious level you are ready to have sex. Perhaps it took Cosmopolitan magazine to bring you closer to this realization. Your mother senses a change in your desire to want to engage in sexual activity, so quite naturally she is asking questions. If I have no desire to own a handgun, but the cover of my favorite magazine has a cover-shot of a Glock, I would become very convincing in regards to my dislike of guns, explaining this to my wife would be a piece of cake...I would leave no room for doubt. So to answer your question, yes, your mother is making assumptions on your sex life, and so would I.

probably, but there is really nothing you can do about it. You have been honest, the rest is on her.
