My good friend's father-in-law just past away after a long illness. I didn't know him, have never meant him, but I talked to my friend almost everyday towards the end. My question is should I go to the "viewing"? I offered to help with her children during that time if need be!

all l can tell you is this, and pass it along .

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind)-
I asked Him to send you treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And my friendship to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small-
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

Of course you should go, you are there for your friend, whether or not you knew the deceased. It would probably give them great comfort with you there.....
You will be glad that you did.
Anything that you can do to help lift or ease the burden that day would be greatly appreciated....
They will remember that you were there for them......

i think i would, just to show support, if she doesnt want you to watch the kids. Show up, sign the book, greet the couple and any family you know, then go.
