I love technology. But feel that if we had to work hard, plant our own food, that sort of thing, we wouldnt have the emotional problems that we have today...what about you?

If I could I think I would choose late 1800s to ealry 1900s America

I don't know about the emotional part but I think a lot fewer of us would come down with the diseases we have today that are attributed to big industry, especially the pollution that they cause. I've been thinking lately that if we want to totally eradicate cancer, prevent it that is, we'd have no choice but to go back to a simpler lifestyle where we grow our own food, including meat, wear no cosmetics, don't smoke, don't pollute the air with engine emissions. Many companies that make things like cigarettes, cosmetics, cell phones, etc. that we love but are causing us harm, would go out of business and all those people would have to find other work. Unfortunately, after having all the technology we've had, it would be very difficult for all of us to suddenly be without it.

Those earlier time periods always sound wonderful, until I think about how a good case of strep throat could kill you.

Why not live a simpler life today?
