Is America or Canada Law doing enough to prortect our children from pedophiles?

In this question I have included Canada. Canadians also complain about how little effect their laws have on pedophiles.

Pedophiles are released every day back into our socities. The statistics prove that Pedophilsm is a much larger problem then both countries Politicians suggest. Every expert will convey to you that their is no cure for Pedophiles. My question is if there is no cure, and no known rehabilitation measure; Why do our law permit these criminals back into our society. The recivisum rate is high, which means they will re-offend. Your thoughs?

No, both countries are lax on the sentences. The sentences that some sexual offenders get is pathetic if not disturbing! The question is why is our leaders so relaxed with the obvious problem? I really feel it is because children do not pay taxes. The politicians are not concerned enough. My other argument would be as a nation and in our perspective countries, we the taxpayers, both parents and non-parents need to put pressure on our politicians to change the law.

Stiffer sentences, if a child is raped but not murdered, it should be 25 years to life with no possiblity of parole.

If a child is murdered then it should be an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth in every case! Death! If the death penelty bothers some folks then, at the very least life in prison with no possiblity of parole and no faint hope. They get to leave only upon death. I for one am sick of hearing about this vermin having the opportunity to enter back in society. What second chance do children get? Absolutley no second chance for them. The children that survive have to live with what was done to them for the rest of their lives. The children that are murdered, do not get a choice to go after their dreams and aspirations. Come on some of these children are 3,4,5,6, ect... .this also happens to some infants. No I do not think we can afford to turn a blind eye and be forgiving with Pedophiles any further.

Last, Parents do their job, but when your child is so unsafe that they can't walk to school at a certain age or play in their yards, that is a scary society that we live in. It is time that we don't accept it and we as a society do something about it. Every politician running in both countries should have the problem of pedophilsm and the safery of our children on their agenda;s.

I think that our two countries are doing something about the problem that we both have with this sickness called Pedophilsm. The problem is that we can't measured if it's enough or not. Is something that we have to work with it every day, just like any other crime. In the USA if you murder some body you get death, but with pedophiles is different, don;t think that I'm defending them is just that we have to work with this problems within the laws that we have. We should make laws that are stronger, like life in prison with out parole. Do you know that the biggest pedophiles are in the Catholic Religion because they are protected by their leaders. And the reasons that they are protected by their leaders is because they are pedophiles also and worse. In order to really fight Pedophiles we the community have to start with the Catholic Religion, and so on but who is going to dare do so. So you see is not that easy, is all over us.

I have read reports from experts that say there are pedophiles who never act on their impulses and then there are others who won't stop. I would say to be fair to all, if a pedophile acts on their impulses, imprison them for a certain period of time (5-20 years, depending on the severity of the offense) and give them counseling. When they get out, monitor them extremely closely. If they re-commit their crime, then imprison them for a long time.

Also clean up the Megan's List registries, so that the public knows the difference between pedophiles and sexual predators and everyone else. Right now, it's a useless tooMF

Do the part of being a parent; communicate with your children and know where they are. Doing this will significantly reduce the chances of your children's victimization.

They cant arrest people for what they might do but continual offense should bare a heavier sentence. IF needed, pay more taxes to support overflowing prisons.

I agree. They should not be allowed back into society, ever. Let's rebuild and send them all to Alcatraz! These people are truly sick and can not be rehabilitated. Even if they think that they are over is, it returns sooner or later. What just happened at the Amish School is the perfect example.

Not only do our governments need to crack down on pedophiles (tougher laws, stiffer penalties, longer sentences), but parents need to teach their kids about pedophilia. Educate them and you will arm them with a powerful defense. Let them know that their bodies are their own and what to do if someone approaches them inappropriately.

Amazingly sufficient, babies have been secure in the previous Hillary Clinton and massive government. i think of the actual question is do mum and dad do sufficient to guard their own babies? it rather is determine duty to preserve and look after their own babies. no longer purely is it inefficient for the state to preserve and socialize babies, however the state socializes values that don't resemble many mum and dad' fee structures. interior the tip, the question is not any rely if mum and dad are keeping their babies. they might desire to no longer wait around for anybody else to make advantageous their babies are secure.
