most name brand companies make the store brand, so there really is not much difference.
the reason it cost less is store buys more of their own brand so they pay less and pass on the savings

All baby formulas are different and contain differing levels of nutrients, fats, etc. And brand name tends to have "new ingredients" sooner (like DHA) but these new ingredients do not always prove to be beneficial. However I wouldn't say generic is any better or worse than no-name. Also as far as I know more brand-name has been recalled than generic. PS I can't say if it is true with formula but many other no-name products are made in the same plant by the same company as a brand name. Though this is less true than it used to be.

Nope. It's like any other kind of food or product that we use orally.
The only difference between Similac and the target brand, as you have noticed, is price.
Check the Children's Tylanol, and the generic kind, and they are the same thing. All the same ingredients, but see the companies are sooo used to people (especially new parents) not knowing or realizing that they use that to their advantage. They count on it. So continue to save money......Good Luck

No Hun you are not... most people can't even afford the name brand stuff.. I know I never could.. W.I.C used to give us that.. until the price went up.. then they started using the store brands... so if it is good enough for them to give to over half of the state ( Missouri) I'm sure you will be fine giving it to your child. And in no way are you a bad parent for not being able to give your baby similac.... just be happy you are able to feed your baby Hun... some people can't and don't even do that..
good luck!!

No, I asked my pediatrician this question, and he said that formula is regulated by law. The nutrition your baby needs must be in the formula, or it can't be sold. I used Parent's Choice (Wal Mart), but I'm sure Target brand is about the same. Hope this helps!

no, my goodness you r not a bad person for doing this, my dr told me that as long asi feed my baby infant formula it was fine...it dont matter what kind it is....next time u goes to the store....just grab the Similac and the kind you uses and compare the ingredients and all that stuff and u will find there is no difference...i used Similac Advance after breast feeding, but my cousin uses President's Choice on his little boy...and he ir fine....he's huge....so i guess its doing the same things for him nutritionally as a more expensive brand!!!!!

No if it has all the same stuff then it doesn't matter. It's like buying the cheaper baby shampoo or diapers vs. the name brand it works just as well I say go for it.

No you are not a bad parent. Just run the formula by the Doctor to make sure that he/she approves. If not, there are other cheaper formulas that your Doctor could recommend.

No. It's all regulated by the FDA. I used Parent's Choice for my daughter and she is really healthy. Seriously save the money.
