Lauren F. has it right. Try a black suit, white or black shirt, and a turquoise tie. This looks nice when you're next to her. It also says to people "Yes, I'm her date." Ties are the best way to match a girl's dress.

Well, you don't have to match your girlfriend, but you could wear a really nice sort of vintage shirt, with some...not-too-smart-not-too-slack sort of trousers. Or you could wear a suit jacket, black trousers and a white shirt (no bow ties, lol)

it depends on where your going...if its formal then go with a black suite, white shirt and a turqois tie....or a brown tie with a turqoise design......it always looks polished
