It's time for a brake job. The fluid level in your master cylinder has decreased enough to close the low fluid level circuit when you apply the brakes, due to the wear down of your brake linings.

Your brake fluid may be low and if you don't have any leaks at the wheel cylinders or calipers it may indicate that your brake pads or brake shoes have worn down. The more they wear the lower your fluid gets in the reservoir. If you have never changed your brake fluid it probably looks like ice tea by now which means there is a lot of moisture in it. Brake fluid is real bad about attracting water and its a good idea to flush out your brake lines every couple of years. Your brakes will thank you.

You have a small problem with the brake fluid container in the
engine compartment. Go there and check out the fluid level,
which I suspect, is insufficient and it is causing the sensor
to signal the dashboard brake light on.
Fill up the brake fluid to the correct level and the sensor will
work correctly.
Happy motoring!

You have a lose of brake fluid in the master cylinder or the master cylinder itself is bad.Need to check all brake pads for wear as this could cause a low pedal. If you are not a brake expert you need to have it checked by a good brake repair service.Probley won`t cost much to have it checked.

You probably have a leak in the brake system. It could be a line or a wheel cylinder. Better get it looked at asap, your brakes are probably only working correctly on 2 wheels.

The fluid level in your master cyl resevoir is too low... this is probably due to brake wear on your shoes and drums causing the fluid level to drop in the resevoir...
