You can't do this using Yahoo Mail. A legitimate email package such as AOL, Compuserve, etc. have options on whether email has been received and/or opened on the other end. No timing of how long read is available anywhere that I know of.

Usually a mail reaches its destination if you don't get failure notice a few minutes to hours after sending it.
As for being read, you can add a read receipt to your email, which informs you when your friend reads you message.
Of course he can turn this feature off, if he wishes to.
I hope you find that informative.

If you use outlook express for email, you can request a 'read receipt'. In Outlook, go to tools, go to options, click on receipts.
Pick your option. Don't forget to click apply when you're done.

depend on your e.mail service.
if you will not get error delivery notification then:
you can ask "read request".
also you can install special e. mail utilities.
but - it works just if she will not block it....
you can send her -photo by webshots.com
and you will be inform.
also: mailinfo - but it is just with oulook express (and the read request in it...)

There's no way of knowing. You can just wait until your friend notifies you or unless you know the password to your friend's email account.
