Look at the way they get into office. It's the reason that "swift-boating" is now a verb. Remember Willy Horton? Shameless stuff. Lee Atwater was so ashamed of his manipulation of the electorate on behalf of Reagan and Bush that he apologized on his death bed.
- They claim to be fiscal conservatives but run up the largest deficits in history
- They claim to be for "getting big government out of our lives" and conduct the most intrusive and draconian (not to mention illegal) domestic spying campaign in the history of the country.
- They claim not to be interventionist, but declare war on the whole world.
- They claim to be pious and religious but send gay sex emails to underage boys.
Look up "hypocrite" in the dictionary and you will see "GOP"

Much as I'd love to blame this all on GOP, it is a big problem in both parties.
My big problem with GOP now is, they got in in the nineties as the party that would clean up government, the party of honesty and ethics and personal responsibility. Yeah, right.
Bottom line - when all the power is in the hands of a single party, they ALWAYS mess up, they always feel that they can do anything they want, and until we get this government out of single party control we will continue to pay the price.
If we want any constitutional amendments it should be that control by one party or political interest of all branches of government should somehow be banned. Since there is probably no way to do that legally we have to do it at the ballot box.

Well, that is such a generalization it is almost not worthy of a reply.
There are just as many corrupt Dems as Repubs. William Jefferson, Harry Reid, The Clintons, Ted Kennedy...
Corruption is not limited to one party or the other. Some of these people are just not nice. Some of them abuse drugs and/or alcohol, some are hypocrites, some are racist or sexist...this is in all parts of the population and for you to try to make it appear that it is more prevalent in the GOP is a gross mis-characterization.

You left our "Dirty" Harry Reid who had a business partnership with a guy who benefitted from his votes to permit federal land swaps. Where is the outrage? He admits to illegally making a few hundred thosand, but that is not the issue. The real issue is the land swaps he voted on.
Here is a list of other congressmen from both parties caught with their hand in the cookie jar:

The GOP is in a mess! But the dem party had just as many problems and scandals under Clinton. The pendulum swings both ways and they're all corrupt and untrustworthy. It's just that now, the GOP is the party getting caught.

You are an unthinking and uninformed individual with a one-track mind. You want to demonize an entire population and don't even have the ability to look at the entire Congress as a whole. You simply ape whatever tickles your ears and believe anyone of intelligence will pay attention to you. I DON't THINK SO!

Because all three of those are running rampant EVERYWHERE, not just in the GOP. The Democrats have racism (Robert Byrd), corruption (the Kennedy family), and hypocrisy (every one of them who claims to be open-minded, compassionate and tolerant but constantly attack the other side.).
So it's everywhere. Why wouldn't it be in the GOP as well?

Us Democrats have our problems too. I think it is more widely publicized because of the holier then thou repuglicans that run on better morals then the democrats, while not especially true it has had an effect on the voters. Maybe these indiscretions will put the U.S. on and even keel and take morality out of the voting public eye and we can concentrate on more important issues. Like the going to war for no good reason. Supply side economics's, and the national debt.
