damn!..once you felt it, you wish that haven't ask this kind of question..having someone broke your heart is a total disaster!!it disrupts your whole life!! -- and I mean everything!!here's what it feels like: it's like a sharp cut by a knife right into your chest, that sometimes all you can do is cry!!..it drives your mind crazy thinking of the person who ironically is the same person that could make you smile (that's life)..

I don't know how old you are, surely you have had a broken heart before. If you have been able to aviod this so far in life that's great. I am sure that you are expecting to here that it feels bad and it does. I think that there are many types of broken hearts but they all stem from a loss of a love either for another person or an important thing in your life. My father is going throught the loss of my mom through her recent death. They were married for 54 years and he is most definitely heartbroken and the feeling is bad for me and my brother so it must be 100 times worse for him. I doubt that you will find anyone who will honestly say that a broken heart ever feels good.

"Losing love is like a window to your heart..
Everybody sees your blown apart.. " It's part of a Paul Simon (I think) song.. Not sure which one.. It's a great song though..
That's exactly how I feel right now.. just got my heart broken.. and I feel (well, ok at the moment).. but it is like a rollercoaster...
One moment, I feel like I have been freed and the world is full of opportunities that I wouldn't have been able to explore if my heart hadn't been broken... then I feel utterly crushed, can't do anything and need to lie face down and cry.. then I want to run away.. then I want to be done with everything.. then I just want to hug a close friend or family member.. then I just feel calm, accepting understanding, and ok.. then the cycle starts over.. and I do like those lyrics to the song, because for me it is so true.. having your heart "broken" can seriously feel like someone has ripped it out of your body, wrung it a million times and then stomped on it until there is nothing left (I am making myself laugh at the moment but I know that sometimes I truly feel this way).. and then it feels raw.. like there is no more raw an emotion as how you feel when you know that you love someone and either they don't love you back or you do love each other but in a different way than you thought and that you aren't compatible for a longterm relationship and as much as it hurts to let it go and you want it.. and you want to continue it you know that the best thing to do is for you both to work through the pain and move on with your life.. and then again you feel like you have been opened up.. because suddenly your comfort and the life that you had fantasized about in your head is no longer a possibility and you know that you have to create for yourself a new future.. which can be both exciting and frightening at the same time..
You can feel better afterwords, but after a long time.. if your heart is truly broken, it takes a long time to heal. (Not to say that you can't have highs and fun nights out and crazy days with friends and family in the meantime.. but if your heart is truly broken, it takes a long time to heal it..)

"Broken Hearts Are For A...holes"

I do not want to hurt You... but just listen
what the Great Man said. It might be helpful.

It is, to me, like greiving a death. My chest aches and I feel like I can't breathe. This is concerning loss of a deep love.
