Eyebrows are a natural frame for the eyes and should be in proportion to the face. Perfectly shaped eyebrows will enhance the look of your eyes, your face and will accentuate your makeup while; ill kept, unruly eyebrows will hide the beauty of your eyes.
1. Pluck only from the underside of the brow in the direction that the hair grows.
Don’t pluck from the top of the brow and chance plucking too much and losing the shape of the brow. You may also want to pluck any stray hairs between the brows. If you find it painful apply a lubricant before you pluck, preferably one that had a dulling effect like oral gel.
2. If you find your eyebrows are starting to thin use a brow color to fill them in using feather strokes, do not draw on lines in place of eyebrows.
3. Brows should be the same color as your hair or a shade lighter.
4. Your brow should start right above the inner corner of your eye. To determine where the eyebrow should start place a pencil against the nostril and line it up with the inner corner of your eye. Your eyebrow should end at a diagonal with the outer corner of your eye. To determine this, place a pencil at the side of your nose ending at the outer corner of your eye. The eyebrow should arch above the outer rim of the iris.

I really recommend finding a salon where they will sculpt your eyebrows for you. Most people I know who attempt this themselves end up looking quite pathetic really. You've seen people where you know - they plucked and then they used an eyebrow pen a little too heavily. Then, it's totally obvious that something is wrong because one eyebrow looks different than the other. Then, you've seen women with these wacky looking eyebrows where they dip down to their nose on one side and in the middle make a big bow shape and then way down low on the other end. It's simply pathetic. I'd really recommend getting it done once by a modern salon where they can do the job right. Remember, the movie The Princess Diaries? Harry and Freida? We'll they obviously sculpted her eyebrows and did a very natural looking job of it even if the actress probably didn't have totally unruly eyebrows to begin with. If your eyebrows are truly a nuisance and you have the money - you can get electrolysis done, but this does take time to do before your eyebrows would be exactly what you want them to be permanently. You also need to consider that some people have extremely long eyebrow hair and but it's not really thick. In that case, you have to use an eyebrow trimmer to trim off the curls and that alone will make a huge diference. Men usually look great with hairy eyebrows but guys like my husband need the curls cut off because after awhile he looks like a bushman and brows are all over the place. Mine on the other hand - do look pathetic generally - because they are long and shaped funny. I don't have money for the salon so I do my best to pluck them but plucking can be tedious and time consuming and if you make a mistake you may sometimes end up looking worse than when you started. I've done that before. What is a great idea is to go to the salon the first time and have them show you how to do this yourself in the future so you can duplicate the great way they can fix them. I would always have a good friend to make sure they don't look pathetic when you attempt it on your own.

Mine are really light so I darken them with a eyebrow powder. I don't use a pencil b/c it looks so unnatural. I don't pluck b/c I don't want to but I also have pretty good shape to mine. I'm also considering just dying my eyebrows so I don't have to put makeup on them everyday. Don't know how any of this will help but good luck.

i wouldnt dye them beacuse i to have dark hair with light eyebrows but what happens if you mess up or get the wrong color? I would just penicl them in that way if you mess up its easy to fix and you can pick the right color a lot eaiser.

when you wash your face make sure to get your eyebrows and rinse them after, dont tweeze you eyebrows unless you have a major unibrow, and avoid at-home waxing kits.... they hurt.
