By keeping it illegal, the criminal underground controls the activity, because IT ISN'T GOING AWAY.
If we were to make it legal, then we can tax it and regulate it. We can set up red-zones where the activity is monitored and kept away from areas that people don't want it. We don't have to pay for cops to set up expensive and elaborate sting operations that bust hundreds at a time, which also clogs up our court systems.
By making it legal, it allows cops to focus on more serious criminal behavior...specifically the violent kind.

it is in some parts of the world.
unsure, it would mean that there would be regulations, safety, health and other be involved which would resolve many issues about the oldest profession in the world.
if it were well sooner or later someone or a group of someones would complain about it's debauchery and blah blah and it would be criminalized again.
there's a reason why there's so much trouble with things because of no regulations.... in most cases to help keep people safe from many possibilities but nope... it's a moral thing and thus with all things that should at least be controlled or made legal so it can be safer... isn't.
such as abortion, if it's legal those who need it will not have to die to just get a half as.s.ed proceedure.. this is the case for many things actually.

Well, there's nothing as right or wrong. Sum things might seems right 2 U, but 2 others it might b wrong. God Almighty forbids, Y? He knows what's good & bad as He's the All-Knower. So, Y go against God's teaching. Afterall we all have 2 return back 2 him & answer for the things we deviate from His teaching! If U have all the body parts intact, U can alwiz do any other job 2 survive rather than prostitution. Does ur body worth juz 50 bucks? Where's ur dignity, self respect? People who support prostitution are the one's who'll disgrace U in society. They need U & at the same time they condemn U!!! What a joke?

Of course. It is the only way to protect those women on the street from getting beat-up by johns and abused by their pimps. They are entitled to the same protections all women are and you only get that when you decriminalize their profession. Also, health benefits of testing, etc. like they have in Nevada.
It does not seem like much of a job but I do have some hang-ups about random sexual acts. Makes me squeemish.

The issue is not whether prostitution should be legal. The fact remains that is should not have been regulated at all. Prostitution is an act between consenting adults. The idea behind legislating against prostitution had to do with morals since there is no criminal act or breech of liberties involved in it.
(But then the evil side of me always says "Of course it should be legalized, and regulated and taxed. No one is hurt and the economy benefits." A win-win situation.)

Yes it should be but I believe in that it has to be controlled so that we do not get young (underage) girls forced to do it.
If it is controlled like in Nevada and some European countries, and the women chooses to do this type of work, then I fully support it.
Legalized prostitution in European countries that are controlled by the government health services and state have very minimal problems, and rape is very, very low compared to the U.S.

It should be fully legal
LEGALIZING WILL MINIMIZE DISEASES and be much healtheir than the current hypocrisy. If you worry about the spread of the diseases then you support legal prostitution/
It is the oldest profession ever, has been around and in demand for thousands of years, is used by thousands if not millions, it is honest service in exchange for money.. so why not?
PS: I love it when some women oppose it: why don't they oppose their husbands, fathers or brothers using the service??

Yes it should be legal
It is one of the oldest professions.
If it was legal it may help to cut down on rape, and if it stops a few women being raped then it would be a great thing to do

It is legal in some parts of Nevada. If it were licensed, it might not be such a dangerous trade, but it would still be a disease vector.
